The Sesvete football club was founded in 1945 and has gone through various phases throughout its history, from amateur beginnings to a professional club. The club has been a regular participant in the Zagreb and regional leagues, and achieved its greatest success in 2007, when it entered the First Croatian League for the first time.

After returning to the lower leagues, Sesvete continued to compete in the Second Croatian League, and today they compete in the SuperSport 1. NL. The club is known for developing young talents and stable play. Tradition, dedication and love for football continue to be the foundation of the club's work, and NK Sesvete strives to strengthen its status and be the pride of Sesvete.
